15B VNE
« on: 01 December 2008, 16:45 »
Back in September I requested assistance regarding aileron Flutter at 90knots. I later posted a possible answer being "pilot induced oscillation".

Since that time I have achieved VNE on two occasions without any problems.

thanks for all your comments and advice

Kevin

Hey Kevin,

Was it for sure aileron flutter?  I am still searching for balance information for rudder, elevator and ailerons.  I need to know where the cg is for each of these in "inch pounds".   Does anyone know where I can find this?

Flutter sounds like a very scary thing.

Hi Scott
No it wasn't flutter, it was "pilot induced oscillation". In other words I hit a bit of turbulance at higher speed, got carried away with the controls and created a problem for myself. Inexperience! The answer in such an event is to keep a firm grip of the controls and fly through it, the affects will pass almost immediate. I have since run up to VNE twice with no problems.

Cheers Kevin
