ASW15 Transponder TM
« on: 06 March 2008, 08:13 »
The Transponder TM for the ASW15 is being made in the near futere. After we have build in the antenna AS will make a TM and "einbauanweisung" so nobody has to get a minor changer aproved from the EASA. It will be a Rami AV22 antenna and it will be build in the same way as in the ASW20.

Regards,

Adriaan

In the "einbauanweisung" of the ASW20 you can read exactly how to install the transponders. Are you planning to build in a transponder in your Asw15?

Yes, we have the transponder and antenna already. Now we have to build it into our asw15.

A very interesting article about transponders:

We have finished the installation of the transponder for almost 90% this weekend.
It was quite tricky to find room in the instrument panel for the transponder. We had only to cut away a small piece of the panel. Then we glued in with epoxy the antenna bracked. Don't forget to mark the place with a pen before you glue it together; it's very hard to see where to place the bracked, when you have to stretch your arm through the hole in the back.
Next, rigging the coax antenna cable through side of the cockpit. This went fairly easy going from the back to the front. Solded the coax connectors on both sides.

The only thing to do is to fit the actual antenna to the bracket and connect the transponder to the powerbox.
