I know a guy who is a glider guru.  He put tips on a guy's 15.  Charged him 3500.00.   The reported result was  no appearant improvement of high speed glide or minimum sink performance.  The stall speed lowered slightly and slow speed stability was enhanced quite noticably.  General stability improved and landings and approaches were enhanced by this.

Hi 846

I have tips on my '15, and they make a world of difference in the climb. I have tried with and without, and she certainly climbs much faster with the tips. Stall speed is slower, handles better, but my VNE is 200kmh. We have a 15 on the field with no tips and her VNE is 220kmh.

Not sure which country you are in, but check first with your local CAA if you can do a mod, should you choose to.

My local glider guru put my tips on in 1998, and not much has changed in his tips since then. I'm sure he could make up a set for you, send them over to you an you get them installed.

Cheers
Martin
