water ballast

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a glider, since I have only a limited budget an ASW15 is one of the options.
What's the story about water ballast ?
Does only certain B versions have it as an option ?

The other glidertypes I'm interested in is the Std Cirrus and Libelle.
How is the performance compared to them ?

greetz,
Bert (Belgium)

Hi Bert,

Indeed the B version has the waterballast option. Mine has two bags, I have never used them. I heard of a club member, who used to have a 15 that ballast has a great effect on better performance at higer speeds.

At this time I'm making a new dashboard (adapted to long persons), but the next project will be certainly restoring the waterballast.

BTW 1: if the rubbers of the taps get worn out. Use the rubbers of the cap of the "Grolsch" beer bottel .  ;)

BTW 2: En een 15 is geweldig in een pompe!  B)
(Note for our belgian friend)
