New guy, Hello
« on: 09 May 2022, 21:13 »
Hello all,
I'm very happy to find this group. So far, I have more questions than answers, which makes this forum heaven sent.

I live in Utah, USA and am a member of Utah Soaring Asso. We fly out of 4 airports, all in the mountains with field elevations all above 5,000msl. Summer thermals boom at 10kts+. Our flights are capped at 18,000, caused by airline traffic.

My background is 7 years of GA flying, airlines for 35+, and now gliders 30 hours. I tow for the club with a Callair and a C182.
I found a -15, (first flight April 1971) from a club member with small dings and dents. I'm a A&P mech which gives me comfort to fix little things.

I'm looking forward digging through all the old posts here.
Thanking all in advance for all the hard work needed to keep this forum going forward.
Cheers,
Jim L
