lifetime of airframe
« on: 13 August 2004, 07:58 »
I interested in buying a ASW 15 or 15B, so I'am trying to learn some technical information on the aircraft. I do not know if this pertains to the ASW 15 or 15B. Most fiberglass airframe aircraft have a lifetime hour limit on the airframes. Does either the ASW 15 or 15B have such an hour limit. (For example the LET L-23 has a 6000 hour lifetime on the airframe). Does the ASW 15 or 15B have a limit and if so what is it. Or is there a set time or limit when a gel coat has to be re-done? Where can one find technical maintenance information on the ASW 15 or 15B before purchasing.

Thanks

1. 3000h. Thereafter an inspection has to be done. Then further 3000h.
2. All maintenance reports have to be in the livetime folder.
DON´T BY AN A/C WITHOUT GAPLESS REPORT!
3. Technical advisories are to be found on manufactureres side. ( Or here... )
4. Gelcoat has no lifetime limit. Has to be changend when damaged.
When good treatened it´s good for eternity.
When not... I know A/C where it had to be changed after 1000h,
I know A/C with 3000h and they look like new...

Thanks Joshy. The Information is a valuable start for me in learning all that I can about the ASW 15B before I decide to purchase one. Thanks once again.
