Mylar Aileron Seals, absolutely necessary?
« on: 28 October 2019, 04:41 »
I needed to remove the upper mylar aileron seals to remove the ailerons during my last annual inspection.  I attempted to install new ones but have had difficulties in getting them to stick well to the double sided tape.  Are they absolutely necessary or just something that's good if you want the best performance out of the aircraft?  I'm curious to know if anyone is flying without seals on their aileron's.

I guess I don't check this forum very often, not much activity these days :(  I removed the mylars awhile back because they were falling off and have not noticed a difference. I do plan to replace them one of these days... but don't let it stop you from flying.
