Replacement tail wheel

I have just acquired an ASW15. I knew when I bought it that the tail wheel would need attention soon. After a few launches, the tyre of the tail wheel fractured into three pieces, and the metal wheel is distorted. Any good advice on finding suppliers of replacement wheels, please? I am based in the UK.

Hi

Does your glider have a split or solid tail wheel? If yours is solid then it may have got distorted by previous owners trying to sweat one a replacement tyre.

The 15 is rather tail heavy and the wheel is under a lot of strain. Best Buy a wheel from TOST and make sure you fit at least a 6 ply tyre (probably also from TOST)

Anything less than 6 ply will not last long

Thanks, Andrew. I have discovered that the tail wheel modification on mine is not the standard design taking a TOST wheel. it will only take a small (75mm diameter) wheel. I have found a replacement - let's see how long it lasts!
