Folding Canopy
« on: 05 June 2013, 23:30 »
Last Winter I spent some time for a folding canopy.
I´ve got the plans from Akaflieg Köln and applied for a minor change at EASA.
The functioning of the system is perfect.

The only missing thing now is the painting but this will be made after gliding season within a
replacement of the canopy.

so far

best greets

Benni

That's awesome can you share the plans? I am also curious does it reduce the head room at all? I fly most of the time with the seat all the way back. and there is not much room behind my head.

Thanks

That´s the only problem that there´s not as much place for your head as before.
I´m about 1,82m tall and for me it´s ok.

Hi, That is a neat looking installation, is there any modification to the locking system for the canopy? or does it work as it does with out the hinge?

Thanks
Adam

That is seriously good news, have been told that the mod for a hinged canopy is an ASW19  ;)
looked on website, but sadly can't speak German  :( are the plans expensive?

Gill

Hi
Folding canapoy is excellent, especially if its EASA compliant. Would really like to see drawings if possible.
Any chance
Alan
