I nedd your help
« on: 16 March 2013, 12:14 »
Hi all,

Recently I bought a fantastic asw15, is in excellent structural condition, and I hope to get nice and long flights with the glider, in Spain.
I have only one problem, and not with the glider, is with the trailer, I do not find enough information to get legal documents and I can use on the road.
In the contract of sale, says the trailer is the B15 model and serial number 0154, but can not find information on the internet to talk to the manufacturer.
Someone knows who is manufacturer? I attached pictures of the trailer.

thanks

It looks like one of those trailers made by the factory that made the PIK-20: http://www.sailplanedirectory.com/MnfDetails.cfm?MnfID=40

As far as I know the factory is closed...

Felix
I also have a ASW-15. The original trailer is long gone. It was one covered in fabric.
I adapted an older Cirrus trailer to fit the 15 and now works fine.
To the point. I used to have a PIK-20 long ago. I agree with the other response you received.
It looks just like the PIK trailer. There is a PIK-20 in our field. If it helps you I can gather the data from the trailer and send it to you.
Here in the US it does not make much diference how you make it road legal. We can apply to the Department of Public Safety and call it a home built trailer, and that is how it lives from that point on.

Hello Felix,

the trailer looks a little bit like my trailer from Pfeiffer. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of my own right now but you can see an example here:

http://www.google.de/imgres?client=firefox-a&hs=zj2&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:de:official&biw=1680&bih=986&tbm=isch&tbnid=ENpjqBwMKMRGuM:&imgrefurl=http://www.airplane.ch/ins/verkauf/00010601/index.htm&docid=ftNTy0Z6PVZXNM&itg=1&imgurl=http://www.airplane.ch/ins/verkauf/00010601/Aut_0767.jpg&w=640&h=480&ei=cvV3Ub6PA8fH0QXgsoFg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=164&vpy=219&dur=5178&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=196&ty=90&page=1&tbnh=141&tbnw=169&start=0&ndsp=29&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:89

I am very happy with this trailer cause it runs very well behind a car and it's a bit modified that you can pull out the fuselage by yourself and only need one more person for rigging. Those trailers are not build anymore though. Hope this helps a little bit.

Cheers

Michel
