I joined my club and started gliding career 1 year and 6 days ago (02.04.2010 first lesson with flight instructor) and managed to get licenced about half a year later 10.10.2010.
So I got my licence when my first season was over and it was a very very long winter
One of my flight instructors wanted to sell his ASW15B in winter because this beauty did not get out of its trailer for long time. But no one of the guys who came and inspected it liked to buy it.
On last sunday I had my first flight in this ASW15B. I love this glider!
Aerotow (CG hook) was a bit like riding a wild mustang (very sensitive elevator, not easy to line up behind tug) but manageable even for a beginner
Once up in the air I forgot time and this short test flight took almost 2 hours. 2 hours with a smile on my face and my only thought was "How to tell my wife that I must buy it"
My wife and me had a little discussion and we found a compromise ... so I offered to buy a 50% share and my FI agreed.
Hey guys, I will start into my second gliding season with my own ... ups with my own half of a glider
