Canopy for ASW-15 or ASW-15B needed?
« on: 09 February 2011, 13:39 »
Hi All,

I'm about to order a new canopy for my 15B at Mecaplex, CH and since the rigging cost is almost as high as the glass itself I was wondering if anybody is interested in joining in.

1 more is app. €1460,-
2 more app. €1330,- ea.
3 more app. €1260,- ea.
from 5 more onwards app. €1200,- ea.
from 10 more onwards app. €1160,- ea.

These prices, which are ultimately depending on the exchange rate, are for clear glass in raw cut (needs final trim and fit to frame) including sliding window, window rails and that little tilt-out window. It's all ex factotry in Switzerland (I'll pick em up) and without VAT or shipping to final destination. Schleicher is currently charging €1650,- plus tax and shipping.

So, anybody?
If so, please email me a.s.a.p. since I want to get this done before the season kicks in...

Cheers,
Dirk

Wow Dirk, what a great initiative! If you are interested, you can contact Dirk here. (Registered users only)

Shall I send a newsletter to all the registered users with your plan for a collective buy?

BTW. Dirk, you are very welcome at the asw15 portal.

Hi Johan,

thx for the warm welcome - I'm very happy to join this neat portal; good job!

Further to your suggestion on the newsletter: Sure, go for it! The more, the better, I'd say. I'm also happy to ask about options, which anybody might be interested in, like tinted glass e.g.

Thanks!
Dirk

Hi.  First time poster, just got my ASW 15 last week in texas.  As far as canopy's go, you might want to contact Thermotec USA in california  ( http://www.thermotecusa.com/ ).  He already has the rigging for the ASW 15 and quoted me $2000 US dollars plus shipping.  FOr installation, he wanted $1600 but needed the aircraft there to guarentee the fit.   Very nice guy and might also do a group discount.
