ASW-15 handling characteristics
« on: 05 December 2010, 05:28 »
I am contemplating the purchase of an ASW-15.  It seems to be the ship for me.  I have read the the Phoebus, with the full flying tail, must be flown at all times.  That is, no letting go of the stick.  I am wondering if this is the case with the ASW-15.  Thanks in advance.

The asw 15 is also quite agile. If you let go of the stick: it will slowly pick up some speed or it will slow down. Some turbulence can push you in a turn also. Nothing to worry about; like I said it will go slow and without any nasty tricks like unexpected stallturns. Eventhough, in flight peeing in a bag can be quite challenging  ???

I'll second the "pilot relief" problem as I fly without the moveable seat back In order to fit with a parachute. This results in a very reclined position and gravity is working against me. The only handling "issue" that I note is a 5 knot decrease in speed between no spoilers and full spoilers. If you are very near stall speed and add spoilers without compensating you may stall. This is not as good thing when very close to the ground. (Ask me how I know this).
