Landing gear problems
« on: 05 August 2004, 21:58 »
Can anyone shed any light on inadvertent gear up problems. There has been occasions when our gear which was thought to be locked in the down position, would without warming or depression of the locking button on top of the gear handle, retract and drop the glider to the ground. Any thoughts or information that someone would care to share would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm this seems to be a pilots error.
The Gear is lockes in the girt bar at the handle.
When the Handle is not fully pressed in the fwd position it occurs
the locking pin in the girt bar ( spring loaded ) does not lock
in the right manner.

I would do following:
- check the spring of the locking mechanism
- check the girt bar of play
- in case of extended play change the used parts
